Jez. 28, 4.10 p.m.. Beuter learns that the French Minister of Marine, M. Augagneur, has just terminated a visit to London.
An authorised statement to hand says the Minister had an, sudience with his Majesty the King and a series of conferenced with Mr. Winston Churchill in reference to the disposition and em- ployment of the naval forces of the two countries. These confer- ences showed a conformity of views between the two statesmen and the close solidarity of the two Governments.

With regard to a recent statement in the German official war news, as coming from Constantinople, to the effect that the British offensive against Turkish troops near Korna had been repulsed with hesry loss, the true account of these operations has now been re- ceived.
