Railway Accidents in 1913,
We are indebted to our con-] temporary the Electrician for the following figures:~The Board of Trade rero ́t on accidents on the railways of the United Kingdom in 1913 states that 1,131 persons were killed and 9,054 werd. injored in the working of railwaya by ucoidente in which the running of trains or the movement of railway vehicles was concerned. The number of passengers killed in accidents to trains, rolling- stook, permanent-way, cto,, was 33, and injured 728, and passeng ers killed in accidents from other causes wera 110 and injured 2,224 The number of servante of companies or contractors killed was 422 and 5,753 were injured. Other persone killed "numbered 586 and injured 351. In 1912 the total number of killed was 1,011 aud injured 2,699. In the eight years ended with 1012 one passenger was killed on the average in every 57,800,000 journeys and one injured in every 2,300,000, compared with ore in 44,000,000 killed and one in 2,000,000 injured in 1913.
