A fair business has been done in local stooks in the early part of the week under review, chiefly for settlement account, which passed off saliafactorily on 25th instant.

Bar dilver is quoted 20 1/8 per ez, ready and 20 1/8 per az. for forward delivery, market steady. Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/10.11-16 T.T.
Para Rubber is quoted from London at 2/11 per Ib, and the market for shares dull.
Banke Hongkong and Shanghai Banke have been sold at $817 1/2 and $820, closing firm at the latter rats. London quotes
Marine Insurances-There have been small enlea of Cantons at $310 and there are further buyers. North Chinas have sellers
at Tls. 140. Unions have been sold at $780 and close firm at the rate. Yaogtezes are unchanged at $194.
Fire Insurancas-There have been sales of China Fires at $152 and $153, closing stondy at the latter rate. Hongkong Fires are still in demand at $387) without leading to busines
ShippingChina Manilas are on offer at 88. Douglases are wanted at $80 after sales, Hongkong Canton and Macao Steam boats are in demand at $27. Indo-Chinna are quoted $64 sellem.
