Unfortunately, hoyever, there is still considerable loag in- cured on the Hongkong (British) sabsidiary coinage, and it is difficult to foresee any amelioration in this reap set in the near future, The Hongkong Government recently passed an Ordinansi prohibiting the importation of foreign silver and nickle coinage. It came into operation on the 1st March, 1914, and the Directors hope that this will eventually have the effect of reducing the die count on the British subsidiary coinage, although they fear that the improvement will be elow.
