German Aviation.

It is quite extraordinary how Germany hes recently come to the front in the matter of aviation. It is not only that German pilots have recently beca setting up record after record, leaving the best English and French flights far in the rear, but these per formanoes have been carried out on German aeroplanes with Gor man motors. The existence of a national endowment fund, the so- called "Flagepende," from which large sums are set aside as bonuses to the makers of records, has no doubt exercised a great influenco.
