The Chinese cruiser Haichow did not, as reported, catch fire; a shell entered ber foune!, and she appeared to be ablaze.
The Northo pere lave not consented to an armistice. Desultory firing continued until 10.45 laat night, when the Artillery opened heavily.
In the afternoon the wounded were landled in the Settlement, and the bosipta's are full.
The bravery of tho Rail Cross workers is commented upon. The fire from the oraleer Kiangching cramped up the Southern Infantry and caused the greatest casualtios. The Arsenal fired shrapnel with great effect.
The shitage and wastage of ammunition are commented upon. In the fighting the Southerners favoured crops, trees and grave
mounds for shelter.
Both sidea are reported to have been reinforced.
