Thrilling Rescue from Wreck,
Grimsby, March 22.-The- French bark Marie, from San Francisco for Hull, at the end of her long vaynge to-day met with disaster. Her captain and crew of twenty-four men were rescued by the trawler Amer. The Marie went aebore last night on Hais- 1st half June.borough Sands in the North Sea, during a blizzard, and was being pounded to pieces by heavy seas, The crew had almost lost hope when the Amer hove in sight, launched her lifeboat, and took them off. The captain and mate of the Marie refused to leave their ship until every man of the crew had been taken on board the Amer. The Amer's lifeboat was too much battered by the waves to return to the Marie, so the trawler stood by all through the night. At daylight this morning the steward of the French bark, who had been brought with his comrades on board the Amer, dived into the sea with a life-line, and swem to the wreck, from which he and the captain and mate were ultimately dragged through the.. sea to the resouing vessel. They were landed here some hours later,
