Some low days ago, the Mitau Bishi Co. in- formed the Harbour Office that the work had been concluded on the 3rd instant. The Company asked the Harbour Officials to inspect and pass the word, and volunteered the services of their own divers for the purpose. The Harbour Officials, however, en- gagod their own divers and went to the spot ia question to examine the beltom. It was found that part of the bottom had teon cleared, but the divers discovered a fresh accumulation of stones, which, it is said, measured 15 by 20 feet in width, was over 120
