brought over to the Philippines for the Insular Transportation Co. The engines installed not giving satisfaction, it was decided in April of last year to make a change and the ype of engine finally selected was the Bolinders, one of 180 horee- power boing ordered from the makers in Stockholm. The en- gine arrived at the beginning of February and the work of install- ing it was carried out in the short period of eleven days. The trial trip was made on February 18 when a mean speed of 8 knots
