Subaldies to Steamship Companies.
The estimate of subsidios for the present fiscal year granted by the Korean Government-General. to steamship companies ongaged in coastwise services by order of the authorities amounted to
Y244,003 in all. The "Sesal Press" learns that the estimate for the same included in tho Budget for next fiscal year is Y333,877, showing an increase of 10,274 as compared with that of the s present year. It is stated that this increase is ohiefly due to in- creases made in the amount of aubaidies already promised, as will asto new services to be open.
