Long Voyage Motor Ship. As evidencing the faith which the East Asiatic Company, of Copenhagen, has in the future of the marine oil engine for long voyage vessels, it may be mention- ed, says the "Shipping Gazette that, including the motor ships running, those now building or on order, and others being con verted from steam, this Danish enterprise will soon own a TO- presentative fleet of twelve motor shipa. The pioneer, Selandia, built at Copenhagen, and the Clyde-built Jatlandia, are now in regular service. At Copen hagen there is building third motor ship to take the place of the Fionis, sold to the Hamburg-American Line, and now known as the Christian "X. Two further 10,000-ton motor ships are building for the com pany at Copenhagen, and two others, of the same type se tho Selandia, have been ordered from Mears Harland and Wolff. Two more 10,000-ton vessels still re- main to be placed.
