20ft, throughout, its equipment with oranes, and the craction of a Bingle-storey transit shod. Rein- forced concrete will be largely employed in carrying out those improvements and particularly in the reconstruction of the quare,
Owing to the congested state of the traffic in the East India Dock-road, the London County Council recently entered into ne- gotiations with the Port Autho rily for the acquisition of a strip of land on the south side of the road, which will enable its width to be increased to 70ft,, and this work is now in hand. The road widoning will ndecesitate the de- molition of the arohway and clook tower forming the western ap- prosch to the Import Docks, and as this building is of historionl interest it is intended that in the nay entrance from the East India -Dook road the general character- istics of the old tower shall be reproduced.
