The American army transport Lisout is tied up alongside the Shanghai Dook and Engineering Company's works at the Old Dock undergoing a thorough over hauling which will take about three months time. The Lisoum
·was built in 1878, and when she was taken over by the United Statas government for use as an interisland transport in the Philippine service she was refitted here in Shanghai. Captain W. O. Barolay, who has been in the Far Enat for thirteen years, is in commund of her.
Fremantle Graving Dock, A serious engineering dillionlty has presented itself at the graving dock now in coured of construc- tion at Fremantle. A cave has been discovered, but of its magnitude
