A year or two ago he accepted a position as editor of a paper in Indio, but this he is since resigned to bei como a peripatetic, missionary (in English) to the Indians, Mr. John Cowen is the brother of Mr. Thomas Cowen, a journalist well known to many in the East, who was the war correspondent of the "Times" during the China-Japan War, and died a few years ago in Japan.
