The appeal by Mr. Horatio Bol toniley, M.P., against having to pay £50,000 damages for induc- ing, by alleged 'fraudulent misre- presentation; the late Mr. R. E. Master, a man 80 years old; to buy worthless shares, was on July 31 dismissed.

Lord Justice Vaughan Wit linms favoured Mr. Bottomley baing allowed a new trial, but he emphasised the fact that that was merely on a point of law. Lords Justices Fletcher Moulton and Buckley upheld the jury's verdict, which Lord Justice Buck- ley described as "right and rightsons. Therefore by a ma- jority the appeal failed,
