The Antwerp City was a vessel of 3,100 tons, built in 1894, and owned by Messrs. W. A. Massey and Sons, Limited, of Hull. She was on a voyage from Hull to Savona. She was insured at Lloyd's for £20,000 and the 8.8. Ryton for £33,500.

There is likely to be a consider ablo claim arising out of the fue on board the 8.8. Aud, bound from Licata and Catania to Lisbon with Bulphur. A fire broke out in No. 1 hold, and, owing to the dense fumes, was extinguished with didioulty. The hull was valued at £16,600, and is insured partly In this market.
