This morning the Japanese sal- vage bant précéeded to the cone of the disaster and salvage is now in progress. Passengers suffered the minimum of discomfort owing to the excellent conduct of the officials concerned and are being sant on to Vladivostok by to-night's oxpress, via Kioto and Tsuruga.
First Missionary Captain. A tablet to the memory of Capt Jones Wilson, who in 1796, com- manded the ship Duff, on which Bailed the first party of mis- sionaries for the South Seas, was unveiled recently by the First Lord of the Admiralty in Ituskin- Park, Camberwell.
