Tho mystery was solved one day when a "plant" of a fairly largo quantity of the wood was dis covered in an almost inaccessible hiding place. The plan of the insurance scheme then leaked out. In spite of this, however, the
company continues to prosper, and the prisoners cannot bo de- barred from their little huxury, and punistungut by a stoppage of tobacco has lost its sting to a large extent.
Great interest is taken by the prisoners in their attendance at chapol on Sundays. They are
