At the meeting, held on the 19th, instant, of the Canton Association for the Protection of Boundary Rights, the representative of the Heungeban district stated that, on the afternoon of the 16th instant, a Portuguese Government gunboat named Macaw steamed into the inland ́waters and anchored in the viclalty of the Nam Ping village. The Macaw has been moored there aver since and has not yet moved away in spite of the weather being exceptionally fine daring the last few days, so that the little gun. boat could claim no excuse of 'ress of weather as.the reason for senking shelter in the inland waters.
