"At1 p.m. yesterday, a meeting was held by the Canton Self-Government Society in connection with the alleged murder of a Chinese passenger on board the steamer Falahan, when there was present a considerable number of people of all classes. Mr. Chao Wai Po was elected Chairman, Mr. Chan and several other gentle men made fiery speeches in regard to the ua fortunate occurrence with a view to arousing the feelings of those present.
