The shop people in the market at first thought that the visitors were real soldiers sent there by officials with instructions to hunt down certain bandits and had no idea at all that they were robbers. When these men all go into the market, they closed the gates of the place, and ransacked about five dozen shops, removing money and valuable asticles to the extent of some forty thousand dollars. The shop people, though not well equipped with arms and ammunition, offered resistance against the robbers with the result that sixteen of the former were seriously wounded. The case has now been reported to the Caston officials.
