Shanghai, 21st November. On the night of the 19th inst., without any premonitary signs, a rebellion brake out in Anking, tho Capital of Anhui Province; the in- surgents attacked the capital.
The military opened fire; the rebels being unable to withstand the resistance dispersed in disorder, leaving many dead and wounded.
The rising is of a somewhat serious character. Fortunately, however, the Governor of Aahul has just returned from the military mancet- vres and, on hearing of the insur- rectionary rising, he commanded the troops to mount six guns whichi he had trained on the rebel camp. The artillery opened fire resulting in the insurgente fleeing for their "lives.
