THE WEATHER.

The following report is from Mr. F. G.. Figg, Director of the Hongkong Observatory :---

On the 18th at 15.55 a.-The barometer has

· fallen- very rapidly in E. Japan owing to the. depression, which is moving towards E.N.E. 10 the South of Hakodato..

Another depression has appeared over N. China, where the btrometer has again falled quickly,

Pressure has increased over W. Japan, and' B. China. It is highest over the latter area.

B Moderate N.E. winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel, and along the Northern shores of the China Cen,

Hongkong Rainfall for the 74 hours ending at to a.m. to-day, 03 inches.
