Gentlemen,-The directors have now to sub-

mit to you a general statement of the affairs of the Bank, and balance sheet for the balf-year ending 31st December, 1907.

The as profis for that period, including $1,797,167.5, balance brought forward from last account, after paying all charges, deduct ing interest paid and due, making provision for bad and doubtful accounts, amount to $4.912,974.06.

The directors recommend the transfer of $400,000 from the profit and loss account to credit of the Silver Hessive Fund, which fund with the addition from the premium on the new shares, will then stand at $13,500,000,

After making his transler and deducting remuneration to directors there remains for appropriation $1,417.974.05, out of which the directors recommend the "payment of a dividend of two pounds sterling, per share on the old shares, and a proportionate dividend, or one pound and ten shillings sterling per share an the new shaies viz: £220,000-which at 1/98, the rate of the day, will absorb £1,437,586.21.

The balance $1,000,387,85. to be carried to new profit and loss account.
