FOREIGN MERCHANTS.

ANOTHER ATTACK BY THE “ABILE" Some days ago we published a translation. from the ki of an aricle in which serious accusations were made against British mer chants who, it was alleged, had, not fulfilled. their conuscin will Japanese inerchants. Our Osaka contemporary now returns to the question and, having published pratically a repetition of the first article, now writes as followu !—

"Many instances of dishonest and immoral practices of foreign. merchants in business transactions have come to light of late, resuli- ing in losses and inconvenience to Japanese merchants. The cases quoted by us are only the result of the latest transactions between foreigners and Osaka merchants, and the ex- periences of the Kanegafuchi and Fuji spin ning compa ies. When investigations are made foto transactions between foreigners and Japanese merchnals in all other parts of the country, it may be found that such cases are quit: oumerous. The examples are here,
