forenoon, at the Police Conit, the woman nd twothers were charged with keeping a gam ling house and the remainder with gambling. The sergeant who conducted the raid, after giving an account of the arrest, said that in the where the gambling was being carried on he found "a child," He asked it where were its parents and as a reply nointed to the second and third defendante. That went to prove that the second and third defendants, were man and wife and that they rented the flat!
No, that is not true," said the couple to gether, when they heard the latter part of the evidence," the child made a mistaka 1"
His Worship found the two men guilty and fined them $50 each, be being of opinion that As the woman was the wife of the second ac- cused she could not be held guilty of running the house. The others, including the woman, however, were fined $1 each for gambling.
