PEERS DIAMOND HUNTI
ARIST.CRITS FINANCE THE" XEMA" SCHEME.
The Collis Diamond Syndicate as the title of a new enterprise suggests Kimberley, but the sphere of operations in this instance is known only to the initiated. The promoters of the expedition are dispatching the Xemo to'an African inland to hunt for diamonds or other treasure.
The main objective of the expedition is contained in the charts handed over to Mr. W. Griffiths, mining engineer, by the late Capt, Jones, of Cardiff,
The agreements between Griffiths and Mr. E. Kenyon-Collis, the founder of the syndicate, provide that these charts shall be placed in a scaled envelope at Lloyd's Bank until the expedition starts, and Mr. Griffiths guaranteed that he had not shown the charts of the dia- mond isle to any other person,
