THE NAVY LEAGUE IN HONG-

KONG.

The patriotic movement which was inau- gurated a few years ago by a number of gentlemen interested in the welfare of the H.B.M. Navy has continued to grow and expand till now a branch of the Navy League exists in every part of the Empire. The

new Government might seek to reduce the movement had its origin in the fear that a Navy Estimates, to the detriment of the first line of defence and the destruction of its personnel. It was not founded through mere caprice or party feeling but in the sincere desire that the basis on which the Navy stood at the time should be maintained.
