MY TRUTH.

DY EDWIN LATHAM QUARLES

God's truth is in the mystery of things,

1

And power is in the frailness ile has wrought: Sofeeling hearts have songs of noblest thought When gentle touches come upon the strings The purple hour of vesper-worship brings.,

Soul-fights lean high than flowering meads

And in the world no surpliced one has taught What hearts may learn from bird's low carolinga God lives in all fairness He has made,

And boly are the frailties of His hand; And Lam wise when I have full obeyed

The promptings I can little understand; And I am strong when I have wept and prayed

And loved the weakness of a woman's hand.j
