MAN-EATERS AGAIN AT WORK,
The following is from the Malay Mail ;-- We regret to announce that yet another man has fallen a victim to'tigers in the Ulu Langat district. It appears that on 24th July some Chinese woodcutters, „under a kopala, were at work in the jungle about a mile and a half off the 144 mile on the new road between Sungei Besi and Kajang. At noon, the men stopped working, and kepala said be would just sep across a gully and examine a tree about 25 yards off, which he thought would be suitable for cutting. He left them and entered the. gully, Almost immediataly the men heard crles.coming from the bottom of the dip, and becoming frightened, ran away. They do not appear to have done anything ill the following day, when, having obtained the assistance of two Malays, they revisi ed the scent. They state that they saw a tiger, but left the spot with all speed, as they were only armed with ......¶ parange. They had not seen the body. Only afterwards was the occurrence reported at the Kajang Police Station, and then Inspector Wyatt, accompanied by a well-known local sportsman, went out to investigate. They 1000 found the tracks, and following them up, came across a towcbang, sonis shoes, pieces of clothing, and human bonefall that was left of the missing man. These ghastly relice were strewn along the trail for a distance of some 300 yards," while at the end of this space were to be seen signs that the man-eater had been lying down during the two days which it was judged that the tiger must be large had elapsed since the kill. 'THE TIGERS' LAIES,.
The above makes the seventh or eighth man who has fallen a victim to man-eaters in the Ulu Leogat district since the beginning of the year, and to addition to these many head of cattle have been carried off. A resident in the Ferry Company's Fier, Kowloon,
