THE POLICE DANCE,

UUT-DOOR SPORTS,

The unpropitious weather which prevailed on Saturday necessitated the postponement of the annual two-day cricket match "Hongkong Cricket Club v. United Services" A start was, however, made yesterday in raw, bitterly cold wenther. The Club were the first to bat and put on 146 before they were all disposed of of which total Mr. R. Hancock and Mr. J. T. Dixon were responsible for 43 and 34 respec. tively. The United Services, however, thanks to a remarkably well-played innings of sy by Lieutenant Heath, managed to top that score by 23 runs, and won an athletic fixture which could give pleasure only to real enthusiasts. The cricket match at Happy Valley between the Police and the Civil Service ended in a draw, the Police having apparently the better of the outlook. Also at Happy Valley were played several football matches,
