ROLOGICAL

A NEW CODE.

We have received from the Hongkong Observatory a new code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong

4 on New Year's Day. They are the same us

3 those at present in use at Shanghai, and will

be boisted on the mast beside the time-ball at

Kowloon Point for the information of masters

of vessels leaving the port. They do not neces

4 sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The

signals are as follows:--

A cone point upwards indicates a typhoon to the North of the Colony, 坤
