The Chief Justice then proceeded to read the Commission, after which the Hon. May took the oath of allegiance, the oath of office, and the judicial oath.

This having been done the Baud of the Sher- wood Foresters, on the lawn outside, played the first bars of the National Anthem, and a guard of honour of the same regiment pre- sented arms.
