YESTERDAY morning a Chinese broker left his private rickslin on Queen's Road, Central, outside the Western Market, to go for his breakfast. The coolie, it appears, also left the ricksha. When they returned, to their great amazement, they found that the vehicle was missing. They inquired of the coolies aboui, and all stated that they could give do account of. il, except one who said he knew where, the rick stia had been taken to. Heaccompanied the bro- ker and the coolis to Third Street and in a quiet corner spotted the ricksha and the thief busily

WE stated a few days ago, that fourteen polo ponies were expected by the China Novi gation steamer Chingtu from Australia, but Mr. Gegg, manager, of Kennedy Horse Repository, kindly informs us that the horsedealer, who was expected to bring the ponies out, missed the boat and will probably be here by the next Australian stener. The net profits for the year, which were $15,836,845, are the largest in the history of the company--an in crease of a little over 12 per cent, on the whole capital stock of the company, including the now issue, about $18,000,000 of which has already been spent.
