BY THE LILLIPUTIANS.

Invitations to the Company to entertainments were liberally tendered and courteously ac- cepted. The first of these was received from Captain Howie, the popular commander who piloted the Lilliputians to Hongkong from Australia on board the Changsko. A sump- Luous tifo was provided on board yesterday for the youngsters to which justice was done. From the Australian liner the children went to the Empress of India and on board this fine vessel they were regaled to the pleasing delicacies of an afternoon tea provided for them. To complete a holiday afloat our juve- ni'e pleasure providers dined with Capt. Tate of the Resetia Mare, whose hospitality to the youn, sters was dispensed in such a royal manner that an invitation from the Captai to supper on board the American mail steamer Doric had to be reluctantly declined.

Follard's band of little merrymakers continue to delight packed houses with every promise of adding much to our werk of festivities. The large audience that filled the bouse when The Belle of New York occupied the boards on Thurs. day and Friday showed no sign of diminish. ing on Saturday afternoon and evening when Planquetie's nautical opera Paul foner was Staged. she took the part and looked the part to perfection. In fact, she proved a dashing pirate chief. Both her singing and acting were very creditable, and for the vocal items especially she received rounds of unstinted applause. With the sulos, Upen a ke shore, and ver and Anon she delighted the house, and had encores been permitted she would have given a repetition. Pretty Miss Alice Pollard made Youane a delightful character both in the interpretation of the part and, more so perhaps, in the vocal items. Her solo Before the Altar and The Shipping-News, with Master Willie Thomas, as Bicoquet, were among the hits of the evening and, in both instances, the audience clamoured for an encore, Little Willie is an interesting and amusing young gentleman and sustains the humour with credit. But Master Jack and Miss Daphne Pollard as Bouillabais, and Pelit Pierre, were the essence of comicality. They kept

the house in roars of laughter, Masier Jack, as the burly fisherman and smuggler, and little Miss Daphne, as his cute apprentice, aptly designated The Insect. They filled the parts well, and drew a laugh whenever they appered from behind the wings. One has but to imagine a little tot of seven or eight years in the garb of a fisherman, swaggering about with coils of soap, and drawing at a short cuddie, or pulling away at a black bottle, Ilis elder brother, not much taller and just as
