Mr. Chamberlain at Durban. Mr. Chamberlain landed at Durban this forenoon in stormy weather, and was received with a tremendous ovation from the immense crowds assembled to welcome him. Words of welcome were written in huge letters across the breakwater. On landing, the right honourable gentleman was received by the Governor of Natal, the Premier, Mayor, and legislators, with whom he drove to the town hall, where another enthusiastic gather ing had assembled, he again being received with frantic cheers. The Town Clerk and Mayor then delivered addresses of welcome, to which Mr. Chamberlain in reply thanked them and said that the object of his visit was to express the sympathy of His Majesty the King and his people for South Africa.
