The Disturbances in France. Thousands of the populace resisted the closing of the Convent schools in three towns of the Departinent of Finistère, Brittany. The Fleet at Spithead Dispersed by a Gale.

Evacuation of Shanghai.

It becomes now known here, that the Ger man Government had considered, the evacua- tion of Shanghai long before it was suggested by the Chinese. It was, however, resolved that the troops should only be withdrawn, if the other powers acted in the same manner simultaneously.

Tientsin Evacuated.

TIENTSIN, August 15th.. The Provisional Government was dissolved to-day. "Governor-General Yuan Shih-kai entered the City at noon, while all foreign troops, headed by the German Regimental Band, evacuated the City late in the afternoon.

The warships in the Bay visibly proclaimed the day of testivity. There are a goodly num ber at present in harbour, of which 1.M.S. Glory, Ocean, Cresty, Argonaut, (forming the division) and the Albion, Goliath, Blenheim and Talbot (forming the B. division) are the most imposing. A Chinese cruiser also came in for the occasion. At eight in the morning all "dressed ship,” and at noon there was the thunder of the royal salute.
