THE CHOLERA.
Though we have done our best to consider the cholera season normal, it is to be feared a considerable amount is krocking about, as it takes something as a rule to make the Chinese throw their dead in the river, and the Peiho is liberally supplied with corpses in theso days. The River l'olice are supposed to attend to.the matter believe, but the presence of these offensive relics of cholera attack are continually reported, and a pleasure trip down the river is apt to be spoiled by them, to say nothing upon the insanitary effect upon the water. A young foreigner was taken to the hospital to-day suffering from a mild attack of cholera, which means that he has cholera and is very ill indeed, but has cheated death so far, This is the fourth case, i believe, among for eigners, two of which have ended fatally though nearly everyone has had stomach attacks of more or less severity.
