WE, the undersigned, the Solicitors for the China Steamship Company of Canton

and Hongkong, Limited, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that in consequence of the Steamship "BAKAN MARU having changed owner ship, we have, on behalf of the present owners thereof, viz, the said China Steamship Com pany of Canton and Hongkong, Limited, applied to the Board of Trade, England, onder Section 47 of the Merchant Shipping, Act 1894, in respect of the Ship “BAKAN MARU” of Hongkong-Official Number 109865, of Gros Tonnage 470 tons, Register Tonnage. 286, tons, owned phor to the 3rd day of Decem. ber, 1951, by Taniguchi Kato and Company of Moji, Japan-for permission to change the name of the said Steamship" BAKAN MARU” 10" CHU KONG,” and to have her registered in the New Naing at the Port of Hongkong as owned by the said China Steamship Company of Canton and Hongkong, Limited, and such permission has been duly granted by the Board of Trade, England.

Any objections to the proposed change of name must be sent to the REGISTRAR' of SHIPPING at Hongkong within seven days from the appearance of this advertisement.

Passengers holding thin igh ORDERS TO EUROPE have the choice of the Overland Rail Routes from San Francisco, including the SOUTHERN PACIFIC, CENTRAL PACIFIC, UNION PACIFIC, DENVER and RIO GRANDE, and NORTHERN PACIFIC RAIL- WAY; also the CANADIAN PAÇIFIC RAILWAY on payment of 44 in addition to the regular tarif rate.

Passengers holding Orders for OVERLAND CITIES in the United States have betweep SAN FRANCISCO and CHICAGO, the option of the SOUTHERN PACIFIC, CENTRAL PACIFIC, UNION PACIFIC, DENVER and RIO GRANDE, and other direct connecting Railways, and from Chicago to destination the choice of direct lines.
