On the 2nd at 10.45 am. The barometer has risen generally. The depression lying in the N.E. part in the Sea of Japan yesterday has moved Northeastward into the Pacific. Pres. sure is high between the Fast coast of China and S.W. Japan, and a low pressure trough pro- balby extends across the N. part of the China Sea and Eastwards over the Pacific in about 18° Lat. Gradients are moderate for N.E. and E. winds on the coasts of S. China and in the N. part of the China Sea. Forecast-fresh N.E. winds; unsettled, squally.

No observations have been received from the Phillipines since Saturday last and tele- graphic communication between the Obser- vatory and Gap Rock is also interrupted.
