After loyally pledging the toast of" King Edward the Seventh the Chairman said beg to pro puse, the health of our guest who is so soon to leave for the old country. Col. He has always played the game. right through for his side, and not for his per- sonal enjoyment. His example repeatedly set us should not be forgotten but should be emulated by every member. In the promotion of manly sporte and health giving games our Honorary Secretary's energy and resource have been untiring and we will be fortunate if we look upon his like again. On behalf of the members, Col, Koe I bave the pleasure to ask

your acceptance of this Silver Salver as a small token of our friendship and esteem. We wish you health, a long life of usefulness and a happy reunion with your wife and family in England. The toast was drunk with musical honours.

How ever I shall take away with me many pleasant recollections, none happier than my pole as sociations here, and I can only tender each of you my heartfelt thanks for your cordial 14ception and kindness to-night (Cheers).

Major A B Hamilton said Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen the honour of proposing the Naval Players has fallen to my lot. We are much indebted to them for their assistance in keeping the proverbial polo ball rolling.e spite of the difficulties in picking up ponies at short notice and netwithstanding the uncer tainty as to their stay here, the Royal Navy are

well represented in all games, more. especially polo. Amongst them are several of the Club's keenest players, and some of its most popular members. I cannot sit down without recalling to memory the grievous loss which the senior service and the Club sustained in the sudden and untimely death at Canton from Cholera, of a typical young sportsman and splendid horseman who was one of the best known figures in last winter's polo, and whose cheery and hopeful disposition him to all I refer to the Liet Commander EA. Baird of B.M Britomart, who was deservedly eld in high esteem. Gentlemen I give you, with every Assurance of your cordial

roval tha health of the Naval Players coupled, in the absence of Captain Orpen, with the name of Lieut. Hutchinson (Prolonged cheering).

Lieut. H. Hutchinson, R. N. said Gentle- man, through the unavoidable absence of Commander Orpen I am called on to respond to the toast; so, ably - proposed. Hamilton and to thank him
