SHIPPING REPORTS.

AN ORNAMENT TO QUEENS ROAD.

Wing Cheong opened their new premises in Queens Road this morning not with a flourish of trumpets 'but with strings offre crackers and bombs. The din caused by the explosions was to bring "good joss" to the house but, the shrewd firm had, taken other measures to ensure success. In the first place they had come [29 out of their shell in a side street and practed a baudsome pile in the main thoroughfare, second. ly they fitted that place up in a style that is not to be beaten in the Colony; thirdly, they stocked the store with everything that is of the latest and best and also went back to the 'dim agès for curios to complete their assortment On entering the new four storey Building fronted with massive granite pillars, you are struck by the solidity of the fittings and the gen eral air of genuiness. One feels at once that if Capt. M. Merlees, of the steamship Hother, you take up a silver hair brush, it dy silver, and from Pakhoi, reports-Fresh monsoon, mode
