FINDING AND SENTENCE.

At a General Court-martial held at Poona on September 9th, in which Second-Lieutenant William Godwine Robinson, 1st Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry, was tried on four charges connected with the misappropriation of money, the Court found him guilty on all counts, namely: (1) fraudulently misapplying to his own, use Rs. 274 of the public money entrusted to him for payment of his Com- pany; (2) fraudulently misapplying Rs. 14-10, the property of the Recreation Club of his Company; (3) behaving in a scandalous man. ner unbecoming an officer and a gentleman by fraudulently misappropriating Rs. 476-12-7 received by him for custody as clothing com- pensation. for his Company; (4) similar mis- conduct in connection with the sum of Rs. 386-6-3 received as a Post Office Savings Bank | withdrawal on the account of a deceased soldier of bis Company. The Court sentenced the prisoner to be cashiered, The Commander-in- Chief bas.confirmed the finding on the first third and fourth charges, and confirmed the sentence of the Court,

The Novor Vrimga of September 14th has the following account of a miracle performed by the famous Father: John. of Cronstadt:- "On the 13th Father John arrived at the village of Sopino, conducted service, and spent the night with Father Lvoy. Next day he journeyed to Konchanskols and consecrated the new stone church there in the presence of fully 10,000 people. After this service a break- - fast was given-in-the school, and many speeches. were delivered in the midst of the breakfast, two men and two old women were seen fip proaching the school house bearing the. seemingly lifeless body of a woman. seven years this woman had been paraly RAJAH, British transport, 5.601, J. Low, of the British ship Dudhope, from Barry Dock, Wales, reports:The passage on the whole from Barry to Hongkong war very favourable, and nothing of any importance took place till the Straits of Sapi in the Dutch East Indies were reached. There, the currents. which run through are exceptionally strong Oil-in-which caused the ship to be at times almost ungoverable, Through Maccassar Siralt and Celebes Sea into the Pacific Ocean moderate winds and fine weather were experienced until the 24th of October, when the ship was caught in a typhoon in Lat. 17 N. and Long,"133 E the Westward, wore ship to the Port Tack, and have to under goose-winged mizzen lower top. sail, while wearing ship the fore and main lower topsails were blown, to ribbons "and", shortly afterwards the fore topmast stay sail and storm spanker were also blown to ribbons, The wind was terrific with an enormous con- fused, sea running which threatened every minute to disiast the ship.
