Considerable expense was incurred in repair. ing the Club Matshed, which was blown down twice by typhoons, early in the season,

A large number of interesting and closely contested matches were played under Associa tion and Rugby rules, and the form shown by the players was, il anything, better than that of previous years.

The Six-a-side Challenge Cup was won by Mr.-A. R. Lowe's team. Mr W. H. H ward

kindly presented six medals to the winning

The Club team was defeated in the third round of the Shield Competition by "H" Com pany, R.W.F., by 3 goals io r.

The dig. trict magistrate boasts of the number of heads he has taken off, but it is generally believed that if you will only pay the price, you may do what you like in this district. Both the U. S. and the British Consula have asked for the removal of this official, but he seems to be able to hold his own against all odds.

For the defence it was argued that the complainant, be. og on the strength of the regiment, was amenable to all the pains and penalties incidental to a breach of military discipline as much as any ordinary soldier, and that the defendant in taking the action, he did was dead sweation, why did you
