Mr. Pieric's Scotsman created a surprise at the last meeting, but opinions are various as to the pony's racing ability now, there being one or two animals likely to oust the Autumn champion, Mr. C. T. Robinson, the well-known book maker, was let in some what over Scotsman's triumph, but Charlie does not mean to be done this time, for he has left Hongkong to go to Shanghai and watch the training. I hope to get some good tips from him in time for any one to telegraph; and secing that he will watch things closely, we may rest assured he will send something good. Regarding himself, I have no doubt that he will return well lined with dollars, even a bigger #pile than he has previously returned with, which has been no small amount.
