THE regulations relating to the official or ganization of the Formosan Salt Affairs Office, have been promulgated in the Japanese Official Gazette. The office is under the jurisdiction of the Governor-General of Formosa and deals with all business relating, to the sale and ins- pection of salt for food in Formosa, The regulations took effect from the day on which they were promulgated (March 13th, 1899). - ACCORDING to a Tokyo paper, the Japanese men-of-war' and torpedo boats, either in course of construction pr recently completed number 24.
