THE 1530-ton ship Dancow, which arrived at Sydney on the 18th it from Port Pizlo, had a sensational experience off the South - Australian coast. She was on her way from Fort Gamble to Port Pile timber leden, and was driven, through stress of weather, close to the rocks at Kangaroo Island, where she was hurriedly, abandoned by the crew. The captain reported that the ship was ashore, and abandoned. A tug was sent out from Adelaide, and instead at a wreck the Dancow was found safe and saugly at anchor, and as mulsjared as when she started her voyans. The tug people lost lule time in saiving her. They silpled the anchors of the ship, and towed her salaly to Port Pirie. The exp'sis and crew then refolued the vessel, the anchors and chains were recovered, and the vessel turned up at Sydney nong the worse for her experience.
