A GREAT scheme is likely (writes a London correspondent) to be shortly proposed for the consideration of the Conservative Clubs through- out the U. The proposal is not as yet official, but I bave reason to believe that, if It were acceptable to the very large constituency appealed to, it would be taken up by the Association of Clubs. A clica'ar letter mention- ing the main laes of the proposal will be sent out to every Conservative Club throughout the Couiry, answers received will depend whether the project and upon the goes forward. To carry it into effect a member- ship of 15,000 would be required at a subscrip tion of one guine each. There sic about 600 Countrvative Clubs, with a total membership of about half a million; but the clubs already affiliated to the Association have a rembership of 200,000.
