The following telegram from General Tachimi, dated Taipeh, roth inst, was received at the War Department this morning On the morning of the 8th Inst. Lieut-Col. Imahashi colomo dispersed the rebels, numbering about 200, assembled at Inringa! (Unrin 7). The column remained there yesterday. An insurgent force of about 600 strong advanced on Rokko on the 8th, but they were repulsed after nine hours' desperate fightlog. Six companies of infantry and one field plece have been dispatched to Rakho.
In the conflict at Rokko, Lieutenant Okude, Captain Iwal, Paymaster Watanabe, Gendarmerie Ensign Urabe and eight men were
