In the last number of the Toyo Keluat (Oriental Economist) Mr. Kanematen Fusejlro, well known Kebomercbant, whokasbeen engaged for many years in the Australian trade, writes on the above topic. He also secke, says the Fepan Maff, to demonstrate the nature of the obsta cles now hampoing the development of trade between the two countries, Mr. Kanematsu advantages to which Japanese merchants are ambjected to consequence of the lack of banking facilities, disadvantages from which, he says, merchants are entirely free.
